Currently, scientific research in the field of care for people with intellectual disabilities during the ageing phase is practically non-existent. Through this operation, the research will allow the development of a pilot project aimed at a new model of support for ageing cityzens with intellectual disabilities and other vulnerabilities.
Among other aspects, it will define the professional profiles that will intervene, the modalities of accompaniment, the agents involved in the execution of the service, the beneficiary users and the results expected to be obtained, as well as the formula to evaluate them.
Elaboration of a research study: generation of a research study in the field of social innovation oriented towards a new model of active community accompaniment for people with intellectual disabilities and other groups.
Definition of the pilot project: based on the research developed in action 1, a pilot project will be defined focused only on people with disabilities and vulnerability who have finished their working stage, either in a CET or in the ordinary company with support. People who can lead an independent life with support and who, therefore, it is expected that they will also need to be accompanied in this new stage of active ageing.
Start-up of the pilot project. It is planned to implement the pilot project resulting from the research carried out with the aim of effectively testing its impact on people and how it can contribute to improving their quality of life.
Evaluation of the project, in order to know the social impact generated by the research and the pilot project.
